Toronto newspaper The Globe And Mail is reporting that controversial British artist Damien Hirst has completed his contribution to the upcoming European Mars Express mission’s Beagle 2 lander… a minature version of his signature “spot” paintings such as his masterpiece “Argininosuccinic Acid“. The color spots, in addition to being Art, will aid in color camera calibration after Martian landing, which is not a trivial exercise. At least he’s not sending dead sharks, maggots or cats to the Red Planet…
