Tim Minear, who along with Joss Whedon is the executive producer of the sci-fi space western Firefly, has posted the following notice on his webpage: “[Jan 09, 03] We have received confirmation from a source at 20th Century Fox that UPN has passed on Firefly. Thank you, everyone, for your tremendous support.” Despite this undeniable setback, fans of the transport ship Serenity and her crew are continuing to try and find a home for the show. “We’ll have a new direction to point you in and several new graphics sometime tomorrow [Friday].” is the word at www.fireflysupport.com . In a highly controversial move, Fox aired the two-air Firefly pilot as the final episode of the series on December 20, 2002, after airing ten hour-long episodes out of their storyline sequence. Three final episodes of Firefly are completed but have not been aired; no word on when, or even if, they will be broadcast.
