…is achieved by realizing that BOTH the “left” or “liberals” as well as the “right” or “conservatives” hold extreme rather than balanced positions. Take life and death. Conservatives support capital punishment and oppose abortion. Liberals support abortion and oppose capital punishment. I support both; in my opinion, the only other consistent position is to support neither. From my point of view, BOTH liberals and conservatives hold indefensible positions on the value of human life. I strongly support the invasion of Afghanistan by American troops and I strongly oppose the invasion of Iraq by those same troops. I also support the philosophy and most of the efforts of both the NRA as well as the ACLU. What does that make me? And why do you say that every time I express a political opinion that it’s a “leftist” one? In reality, I am a kalidescope of political positions, just like every single one of us are. Trying to say otherwise, and neatly pigeonhole people as either a square or round peg, is to do them wrong. So speak up about what YOU think! And attach the links to show WHY you think it! Who knows, you might even win some converts. I’m ready to be one. All you’ve got to do is convince me your thoughts are worth thinking and your beliefs are worth believing. Somehow you have accomplished that inside yourself; share the process you went through and insights you had to become you and let’s see what happens!

What's sad is someone accusing another of distorting the facts and slanting the statements of others without backing up such an accusation with any facts at all. Anyone can hurl insults. But engaging in real debate is much more difficult because you have to be knowledgable about a subject and capable of critical thinking. Take a look at the debate going on in the story "The Human Impact On Planet Earth." Not that's a debate!

Whenever a political opinion is expressed on this site, it’s the worst sort of one-sided, leftist, partisan tripe.

In the fanciful world of the left expressed here, defining facts as one sees fit, and slanting the historical statements of others, the Bush Administration is easy pick’ns.

If only there was the intellectual honesty to turn attention to this outrageous, self-serving redefinition of reality.
