OK, no more promising a story (like silk) by the end of the day. It’s coming along but I’m not done with it yet. Instead, you get some great news about Firefly. The official Fox Firefly DVD site is up here in anticipation of the December 9 official release date; be sure your speakers are turned up so you can hear the official engine hum. Joss will be discussing the Firefly DVD and upcoming movie at the L.A. Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention on December 21. Early DVD reviews are giving the DVD package five of five stars, naturally. Also up are some great Firefly audio clips at Wavsite as well as a new, pretty good fanzine site start-up called “Still Flying“, which is of course the Firefly motto. Of particular interest in this initial effort are the extensive list of other Firefly site links and an exclusive interview with Jewel Staite/Kaylee.

Finally, yet another way that reading SciScoop saves you money: Suncoast Video stores (NOT their website) are selling the the Firefly DVD set for only $19.95 as a preorder. Rumor has it on various boards that their internal sales sheet for the holidays has the set listed with a single-DVD price instead of the $39.95 and up the four-DVD set is going for elsewhere at places like Amazon. I just preordered my copy at the local mall for the $19.95 price this afternoon so I know this “rumor” is true. So go boost the sales to increase the odds of a Firefly comeback and get a copy as stocking stuffers for everybody on your list – only 38 shopping days til Christmas!

…it would make a good christmas present to buy them thar DVD’s for someone. I think that I am somewhat of a fan of Firefly and I can’t wait to see all of the episodes back to back.
