Yep, sough is a word, and a nice one. If you slow down from your hectic holiday pace and listen quietly, at this time of year in the South you often hear soughs in the trees. You can also hear them in your heart anywhere, anytime, where they can be the muse of inspiration; finding them THERE can lead to all sorts of neat personal insights and accomplishments. Like development of a Mars lander or a personal spaceship. Or a new map of the Internet. Or a 35+ MPH self-balancing motorized unicycle passenger vehicle or a 12+ MPH self-balancing motorized war robot. Or discovery of the first heart attack gene, or a strain of rice that could save the human race or a drug-resistant superbug that could destroy it. All of these things don’t just happen; they all start with one person, listening in his or her own way for their own personal sough. When was the last time you heard yours?
