…breaking sex news!!! The Firstburst dipstick test for the detection of sexually transmitted chlamydia that infects close to 100 million people per year and is a leading cause of infertility is coming to Great Britain after common use in the developing world. Since chlamydia causes an estimated $2 billion of damage per year in the United States, perhaps this test will catch on in America soon, too. Until then, one step closer to being more widely available to American women is Plan B, a so-called “morning-after pill” which is meant to provide emergency contraception if needed. An FDA panel has recommended the pill be made available over-the-counter and without a doctor’s prescription.

In other sex news, in order to catch pedophiles [Sciscoop editorial aside: Great idea!!!], British law enforcement officials have announced an online dragnet called Operation Pin. [SciScoop editorial aside: Maybe not such a great idea???] Anyone who chooses to enter an Operation Pin site (the URLs change frequently) will be given the option of continuing through a series of pages while being prompted to withdraw from the process at every stage. Those who choose to continue will ultimately be faced with a screen telling them they have entered a law enforcement website and that their actions to reach it constitute an illegal offense. At that point, their computer identity details will be captured and they can then be arrested and face prosecution in their country of residence. Participating international agencies include Interpol, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Australian High Tech Crime Center, and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Operation Pin is in keeping with America’s offensive on the illegal world sex trade announced by President George W. Bush at the United Nations after illegal sexual activites by his brother Neil in Hong Kong and Thailand. What, you haven’t heard of the Bush family’s Clinton-like involvement in sex or major financial scandals? Well, no wonder!!!

Hey, if you’ve read to here, surely there was a link you could leave a comment on! Let’s get and keep a discussion going!

Interesting “Smart” Toys, but I’m not going to be happy until I get a teddy

BTW, I find the lesser-known ‘define:’ google operator very useful when reading links from this site. It’s much faster than the huge dictionary I keep on my desk, anyway :-) Anyone using Opera can alter the ’search.ini’ and only need to double-click the word to find its definition.
