Did you miss getting free ice cream at
Ben & Jerry’s on Tuesday or at
Baskin-Robbins on Wednesday? You
still have one more chance this week to get something for
nothing. Saturday, May 3, is
Free Comic Book Day at comic book stores
worldwide. Comics companies from the
biggest corporations (DC Comics
and Marvel Comics)
to upstarts such as Slave Labor Graphics
and the web-based Keenspot
are printing special give-away comics to be distributed
on Saturday. Other companies are donating previously published comics
for the giveaway. This is the second Free Comic Book Day in what hopefully will
continue to be a regular, annual event. To find
the participating comic shop nearest you, you can enter your zip code (USA and Canada) in
the FCBD Store Locator,
or go here
to look up other participating countries.
