The new presidential commission assigned to figure out how to implement Bush’s new policy seems to have a few connections to these lunar efforts. Paul Spudis led data analysis on the old missile defense office Clementine lunar mission. And Carly Fiorina leads Hewlett Packard, which has contributed some hardware for the TransOrbital mission.
So, it should be a good year for the Moon, finally :-)

And for anyone in the DC area, a free, public debate is on tonight between Bob Zubrin and Bob Park about the merits of the new Bush space initiative.

Anyone aware of TransOrbital Trailblazer, will be completely stumped over NASA’s plan to send up a “first digital recon mission of the Moon” by 2008.
