All right, so the subject is a little misleading. But I intend to drink some of my porter in honour of these excellent new findings. As reported in New Scientist, it seems that there is an as-yet unidentified compound in beer that reduces some cancers. When lab mice were studied for cancers of the liver, lungs and kidneys, all of which result from DNA damage, these cancers diminished by up to 85% in the mice attending the keggers.
