“Through the scan, we hope to learn about any diseases Tut had, any kind of injuries, his actual age, and maybe more about how he died,” said project leader Zahi Hawass, also head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, in a press statement.
This scan is the first in the five-year Egyptian Mummy Project, which will scan and preserve the ancient mummies of Egypt, many of which are crumbling. The project also aims to solve mysteries pertaining to the diseases and lifestyles of ancient Egyptians.

I think it’s excellent that scientists and researchers are doing their best to find out a reason for King Tut’s death and other information about him and his life. I was very interested in this article but I couldn’t help wondering why researchers haven’t done this earlier.
