Mobile phone games and mobile Java games are considered to be the next big thing in the environment for mobile phone content. [Are they? Ed.] Most people nowadays own a mobile phone [only in the developed world, surely? Ed.] and use the same for staying in contact with their families, friends and acquaintances, even while they are on the move [who else could they use it for staying in touch with? One *cannot* stay in touch, with someone one doesn't already know, Ed.]. People in different parts of the world, whether they are in Australia, Europe or the US now possess a mobile phone. [Didn't you just say that? Ed.] Moreover, they are downloading different types of mobile phone content such as mobile phone ring tones, mobile phone logos as well as downloadable mobile phone games and mobile Java games to make their experience with their handsets all the more personal. [So, what? I really don't care what other people are downloading. Ed.] In such a scenario, the market for downloadable mobile phone games and mobile Java games should look all the more upbeat But all that is in the future! [Is it? Why? Ed.]

Certain problems still plague the downloading of mobile phone games and mobile Java games to even the most sophisticated of mobile phone handsets. As of now, very few people are downloading mobile phone games directly from the Internet or from other online content providers. One of the main reasons for this is the lack of advertisement for popularizing the different genres of mobile phone games. For instance, very few people are aware of the interesting as well as fun aspects of new mobile Java games that are being developed. If they do not know anything about the different types of mobile phone games that are available in the market, they would not spend their hard earned money on downloading the same to their handsets. A person having even the latest handsets would not know anything about downloading specialized category of mobile phone games and mobile Java games to their mobile phones.

Another reason for the limited download of mobile phone games and mobile Java games is the misconception that people in general have regarding the costs of the downloads. Many people think that downloads are either too costly or would involve too much of their time and energy. At present, most of these people are enjoying the experience of playing games on gaming consoles or other portable devices. They are gradually realizing the fact the playing mobile phone games and mobile Java games can turn to be an enjoyable experience as well.

This change has been gradual, but there is no doubt about the fact that there is a appreciable shift in the way people are perceiving mobile phone games as well as mobile Java games. With new games being developed and designed everyday, combined with effective marketing of the same, there are no doubts about the economic viability of downloadable mobile phone games in general and Java games for mobile phones in particular.
