Seven Tips for Becoming a Great Scientist

  1. Don’t worry about age, worry about being exposed to new ideas.
  2. Tinker.
  3. Take risks.
  4. Enjoy your work!
  5. Learn to say “No!”
  6. Learn to enjoy the process of writing and presenting.
  7. See the big picture and keep it in mind.

Very good advice for any profession!  It would certainly apply to artists such as myself as well and is much in how I’ve been approaching things.  If I were to add one tip, it would be to not worry so much, if we are wrong at times, we still learn from it and that is a natural part of the path of enlightenment.

Yes, I think they could be applied to most professions.
