Seven Pains Not to Ignore

Medicine Pain is the body's way of getting your attention when something is wrong. Pain can be bothersome or serious and many of us think we're in tune with our bodies sufficiently to know when to act. But when pain is signaling something more serious it's time to get it checked out.

WebMD rounds up seven pains that could be a matter of life and death and explains what to do if you experience any one of them.

  • Worst Headache of Your Life
  • Pain or Discomfort in the Chest, Throat, Jaw, Shoulder, Arm, or Abdomen
  • Pain in Lower Back or Between Shoulder Blades
  • Severe Abdominal Pain
  • Calf Pain
  • Burning Feet or Legs
  • Vague, Combined, or Medically Unexplained Pains

Don't leave it too late. Any one of these could be really serious, or a severe case of terminal hypochondria.
