Just days after I cited classic BBC science show – Tomorrow’s World – as one of my inspirations for going into science (see Twitter), the BBC has released the TW archives on to the internet. And no, I didn’t get a tip off from Maggie Philbin, although my 15-year-old self would have very much enjoyed such a treat…
Selected TW classics are online here. Sadly, Tomorrow’s World itself is not returning to our TV screens, youngsters looking for scientific inspiration will just have to make do with /Bang, with Yan, Dallas, Jem, and Liz.

I blame Maggie Philbin for having to learn second-order integration….
It’s safe to say that Tomorrow’s World was responsible for the careers of most of this generation’s scientists in the UK and Ireland……
